Blades Add NHL Experience with Tarnasky

ESTERO, FL- Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that forward Nick Tarnasky has agreed to terms with the club and that defenseman Ethan Graham has been recalled by the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Tarnasky, who boasts 245 games of National Hockey League experience, joins the Everblades for the start of their six-game road trip tonight in South Carolina. The former ninth round draft pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2003 split last season between the Florida Panthers of the NHL and the Rochester Americans of the AHL.

Tarnasky, who will turn 26 on November 25, skated in 31 games with the Panthers last year notching three points (1g, 2a) and 85 penalty minutes plus tallied three goals in five games with the Amerks while recording seven penalty minutes.

Prior to last season the Rocky Mountain House, Alberta native spent the previous four seasons at the NHL level with Tampa Bay, Nashville and Florida. In all Tarnasky has 30 points (13g, 17a) and 297 PIM in his 245 career NHL games.

Tarnasky began his professional career in 2004-05 when he played in 80 games with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL recording 17 points and 176 PIM. The following season he began the year in Springfield before earning his first NHL call-up to Tampa Bay where he skated in 12 total games logging one assist.

Before joining the pro ranks Tarnasky spent three seasons at the junior level with Vancouver, Kelowna and Lethbridge of the Western Hockey League. In 150 career junior games he picked up 79 points (36g, 43a) and 197 PIM.

The Everblades also announced today that Graham was recalled to the AHL by the Charlotte Checkers. The 28-year-old was assigned to the Everblades from Charlotte on Oct. 27 and played in three games last week, notching four assists. The Xenia, Ohio native began the season with Charlotte registering one assist in three games.
