Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

NEED TO KNOW: The Albuquerque Isotopes (48-62) were shutout 6-0 by the Fresno Grizzlies (62-47) Monday night at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, CA. It was the Isotopes fifth-straight loss and seventh in the last nine games.

THE TURNING POINT: Isotopes starter Boone Whiting held the Grizzlies at bay and did not allow a hit until the fourth inning. Fresno's first hit drove in the Grizzlies initial run, and they rolled from there. Fresno added two runs in fifth and another in the sixth before capping the evening with a two-run seventh.

WILIN' FEELIN' GOOD: Infielder Wilin Rosario was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week Monday afternoon and continued to show off his talents Monday night. He went 2-for-4 with a double. In four games since returning to the Isotopes, he is 12-for-18 with five doubles, four homers, five runs scored and seven RBI. Rosario has seven multi-hit efforts in his last eight Triple-A games dating back to May 2. OTHER NOTABLES: Outfielder Jeremy Barfield picked up a pair of singles Monday night, going 2-for-3, and now has hits in his last three games. In 13 games since joining Albuquerque, Barfield is now batting .316 (12-for-38) with three doubles, a triple and four RBI. Matt McBride and Cristhian Adames also each picked up hits in the game.

ON DECK: The Isotopes and Grizzlies will play the finale of their four-game series Tuesday night at 8:05. Albuquerque is scheduled to send left-handed pitcher Rudy Owens (0-3, 4.73 ERA) to the mound, while Fresno is slated to go with right-handed pitcher Brady Rogers (8-5, 4.93 ERA) on the hill.

IN THE HOLE: Following their four-game road trip, the Isotopes will return home for a nine-game, 10-day homestand beginning August 5 against the El Paso Chihuahuas and Fresno Grizzlies. 17 of Albuquerque's next 28 games are at home.
