Zephyrs Snap Dodgers Streak

Oklahoma City - The New Orleans Zephyrs avoided a series sweep with a 7-3 win against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Tuesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Zephyrs scored three runs in the fourth inning and led the rest of the way as they snapped the Dodgers' five-game winning streak in front of a crowd of 4,607.

The Dodgers (67-43) won the first four games of their series against the Zephyrs (50-61) before dropping Tuesday's finale.

Oklahoma City took the first lead of the game for the first time in the series.

Jose Peraza singled to lead off the bottom of the first inning, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Andy Wilkins for a 1-0 lead.

The Zephyrs took the lead in the top of the fourth inning. Juan Diaz and Kila Ka'aihue drew back-to-back walks and they each advanced a base on a wild pitch by Dodgers starting pitcher Mike Bolsinger. Jhonatan Solano then hit a RBI single to center field to score Diaz and a fielding error by Dodgers center fielder Scott Schebler allowed Ka'aihue to also score for a 2-1 lead.

Bolsinger then left the game with an apparent injury and was replaced by David Huff.

Vinny Rottino grounded into a double play to end the inning and bring home another run for a 3-1 Zephyrs lead in the fourth.

The Dodgers hit three straight singles in the bottom of the sixth inning and cut New Orleans' lead to 3-2 on a RBI single by Tabata.

In the seventh inning, Brady Shoemaker hit a two-run single to right field for a 5-2 New Orleans lead.

The Zephyrs added two more runs in the top of the ninth inning on a RBI double by Marcell Ozuna and RBI single by Shoemaker.

Kyle Jensen hit a solo home run to right center field in the bottom of the ninth inning to cut the Zephyrs' lead to four runs. The home run was Jensen's 14th of the season.

Tuesday's loss snapped a seven game home winning streak at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for the Dodgers.

New Orleans starting pitcher Justin Nicolino (7-7) got the win, allowing two runs and eight hits over 6.0 innings.

Bolsinger allowed three runs and six hits over three-plus innings with two walks and three strikeouts and was charged with the loss as he made his first start with Oklahoma City since May 6.

The Dodgers' homestand continues as they open a five-game series against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
