Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Sacramento River Cats rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to take a 4-1 victory over the Salt Lake Bees on Monday night at Smith's Ballpark. The two teams were locked in a pitcher's duel until the ninth inning when Ryan Lollis walked to lead off the inning for the River Cats. Bees pitcher Mike Morin overthrew Efren Navarro on a sacrifice bunt attempt from Juan Perez on the next batter. The error proved costly as Mac Williamson loaded the bases after being hit by a pitch and Kevin Frandsen unloaded them on the next pitch, hitting a bases-clearing double to provide the winning runs.

Morin (2-1) was given the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) in one and two-thirds innings pitched. Bees starter Jo-Jo Reyes pitched well on short rest giving up a single run and three hits in four innings pitched. Frank Herrmann, newly-acquired Wesley Wright and Vinnie Pestano combined for three innings of relief with a single hit allowed out of the Bees pen. Ryan Jackson led Bees batters with two hits, while Roger Kieschnick drove in the only Salt Lake run.

The Bees remain home until Sunday, Aug. 9 with the homestand featuring a team poster giveaway on Friday, Aug. 7. Daddy Daughter Date and Princess Night follows on Saturday, Aug. 8 with a postgame fireworks show. For more information or for tickets visit www.slbees.com.
