Reno Beats El Paso 4-3 Monday

The Reno Aces scored three first inning runs and held on late to win 4-3 over the El Paso Chihuahuas Monday night at Southwest University Park. The first inning rally included a two-run triple by Mike Freeman and an RBI single by Peter O'Brien, both coming with two outs and two strikes.

The Chihuahuas scored their first run in the fourth on an RBI double by Jason Hagerty, extending his hitting streak to 12 games, tying a team record held by 2014 Chihuahuas infielder Jace Peterson.

After Reno took a 4-1 lead, Ramiro Pena's two-run home run got El Paso within one in the bottom of the eighth. It was Pena's fourth homer of the season and first at home. Rocky Gale walked in the ninth inning to put the tying run on, but his pinch runner Mike McCoy was left on base.

Pena went 3-for-4 and Rymer Liriano went 2-for-4 in the loss. The Chihuahuas have dropped five of their seven games on this homestand.
