
IronPigs' Winning Streak Snapped at Seven by Mud Hens

Toledo, Ohio - Despite racing out to an early 2-0 lead, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (47-44, 11-7) saw their seven-game winning streak come to a close in a 4-2 defeat to the Toledo Mud Hens (40-53, 7-12) on Friday night at Fifth Third Field.
The IronPigs started the scoring in the second. Jim Haley walked with one out and stole second before Simon Muzziotti drove him home. Muzziotti then swiped second himself and then with two outs, Aramis Garcia roped an RBI single to make it 2-0.
Toledo roared back with three in the third to grab the lead. With runners at second and third and nobody out, Parker Meadows doubled down the rightfield line to drove in two to tie the game. Donny Sands followed with an RBI single to put Toledo ahead.
Sands ripped a solo homer to begin the fifth to Toledo, doubling their lead, and providing the final score for the game at 4-2.
Joey Wentz (1-1) spun a gem for Toledo to earn the win, allowing just two runs in 5.2 innings, allowing six hits and a walk while striking out 12.
Francisco Morales (0-2) suffered the loss in relief for the IronPigs, allowing two runs in one inning on three hits.
The IronPigs continue their series against the Mud Hens on Saturday, July 22 with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m.
