
Indians Even Series with Game Four Win

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs (54-38) dropped their second straight game to the Indianapolis Indians (44-49) by a score of 9-6, Friday at Principal Park.
Iowa jumped in front in the first inning on a two-run double from Jake Slaughter, bringing in his 64th and 65th runs of the season. Up 2-0, Indianapolis got a run back in the second inning on an RBI single from Vinny Capra.
The I-Cubs grew the lead to three with an RBI double from David Bote and an RBI ground out off the bat of Alexander Canario. Indianapolis once again fought right back to tie the game, using a walk and a two-run double to tie the game at four.
Nelson Velazquez clubbed his 14th home run of the year, a solo shot giving Iowa a 5-4 lead. As they did all night, the Indians tied the game in the sixth with a solo home run from Chris Owings.
Alika Williams hit a solo shot in the eighth, giving the Indians their first lead of the game. They brought around three more in the ninth on two singles, growing their lead to 9-5.
Velázquez clubbed his second home run of the game to make it 9-6 and Iowa brought the tying run to the plate, but Juan Minaya recorded the final out of the game to make it two straight wins for Indianapolis.
POSTGAME NOTES:
Nelson Velazquez clubbed his 14th and 15th home runs of the season tonight, one shy of the team-lead.
Iowa's three through five hitters collected seven of their 10 hits tonight, driving in five of their six runs.
