Aberdeen IronBirds News Release
The IronBirds roughed up Lake Monsters' pitching for 14 hits and nine runs on Sunday night in a 9-5 win. Cedric Mullins had three hits and fell a home run short of the cycle in the victory.
Leading Off
Cedric Mullins served as the catalyst in the first inning, leading off with a triple to center field. He would score moments later when Ricardo Andujar blooped a single into right, making it 1-0.
Monsters Mash
After Seth Brown doubled in the second inning, Jesus Lopez tied the game with a single to center. Vermont would take a two run lead int he third when Chris Iriart collect a two-run single to center, scoring Brown and Ryan Howell.
Take Five
The IronBirds took a three-run lead in the fourth, plating five runs. Ryan Mountcastle and Austin Pfeiffer both had RBI singles, Mike Odenwaelder gave the IronBirds the lead with a sacrifice fly. Mullins extended the lead with a two-run double to center.

Alex Murphy crushed a double to left-center field to score Steve Laurino all the way from first in the fifth inning and later scored himself on another RBI single by Mountcastle.
Randy Gassaway would add on another in the sixth with a single, scoring Mullins for the second time.
Two Little, Too Late
The Lake Monsters scored two runs in the final two innings, but the IronBirds held on for a 9-5 win.
Bird Watching
Cedric Mullins fell a home run short of the cycle... Mullins went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs... Randy Gassaway had three hits as well, including a double and an RBI single... Ryan Mountcastle has played two games at home and has four RBIs, after another two RBI effort on Sunday... Steve Laurino, Alex Murphy, and Cedric Mullins all scored two runs on the evening.
