About Last Night...

The Kannapolis Intimidators use a pair of seventh inning homeruns to catapult back in front of the Delmarva Shorebirds for a 10-6 win on Tuesday night. With the Intimidators (4-1) trailing 6-5, 3B Juan Silverio (1) tied the game with a solo shot, and SS Kyle Eveland followed with a two-run blast as part of a four-run seventh, helping the Intimidators set a season-high mark in runs scored. Reliever Paul Burnside (1-0) notched the win for Kannapolis, tossing 4 and 2/3 shutout innings, striking out four batters and walking none, helping the team win its fourth straight game.

The Intimidators struck for five runs in the second inning, chasing Delmarva starting pitcher Timothy Berry from the game after 1 and 1/3 innings of work. CF Trayce Thompson singled in a run off Berry, who walked four batters and mixed in two wild pitches in the inning, before Ryan Palsha came out of the bullpen for the Shorebirds.

LF Brady Shoemaker used a based-loaded groundout to score SS Kyle Eveland for a 3-0 edge. Thompson stole home, and C Michael Blanke singled to cash Shoemaker to increase the lead, 5-0.

Delmarva responded with a pair of runs in the third on RBI-outs from Trent Mummey and Michael Givens. In the fourth, Kelly doubled in a run, and Intimidators starter Kevin Moran walked in another, cutting the Intimidators lead to 5-4. After Moran loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth, Delmarva Tyler Kelly's sacrifice fly off Burnside tied the game, and Michael Ohlman singled to put Delmarva ahead, 6-5.

I Like That Boom Boom Pow...

The two-homerun game from the Intimidators offense was the team's first of the season. The last time the Intimidators knocked multiple homeruns in an inning occurred August 22, 2010 when Kannapolis blasted three homeruns in the sixth inning against Greensboro (Ciolli, Gac, Thompson).

Still Running Wild...

The Intimidators stole five bases in last night's game -- including three by Brady Shoemaker -- a new season high.

WHIP It Good... Starting pitchers Ryan Buch and Jake Petricka are tied for the fourth-lowest WHIP throughout Lo-A at 0.17.

The Intimidators top two starters have allowed a combined two base runners in 12 innings of work.

Home Opener Friday... The Kannapolis Intimidators will take the field in front of the home crowd on Friday, April 15 at 7:05 p.m. at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. Tickets are still available for the team's first home stand by calling (704) 932-3267 or visiting www.IntimidatorsBaseball.com.

Alternate Uniform Debut... The Intimidators will wear their new alternate uniforms featuring the team's new logo for the first time on Saturday, April 16. The alternate uniforms and logo, which features a scripted letter "I" and a silhouette of former minority team owner and NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, will be worn at seven home games throughout the season, one for every championship won by the original Intimidator.
