International League announces league All-Stars

OTTAWA - The International League announced its 2007 All-Stars and Award Winners.

Toledo 3B Mike Hessman leads the pack, as he was named Most Valuable Player and All-Star third baseman. Rochester RHP Kevin Slowey was named the Most Valuable Pitcher and All-Star starting pitcher. Toronto-born Louisville 1B Joey Votto was named the Rookie of the Year, as well as the All-Star first baseman. Scranton Manager Dave Miley rounds out the award winners, as Manager of the Year.

2007 International League All-Stars

First Base: Joey Votto, Louisville Bats

Second Base: Martin Prado, Richmond Braves

Shortstop: Brian Bixler, Indianapolis Indians

Third Base: Mike Hessman, Toledo Mud Hens

Catcher: Jose Morales, Rochester Red Wings

Outfield: Ben Francisco, Buffalo Bisons, Timo Perez, Toledo Mud Hens and Justin Ruggiano, Durham Bulls

Designated Hitter: Shelley Duncan, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees

Utility Player: Aaron Herr, Louisville Bats

Starting Pitcher: Kevin Slowey, Rochester Red Wings

Relief Pitcher: Cory Doyne, Norfolk Tides
