Ottawa Lynx News Release

OTTAWA - Lynx fans from Enbridge Gas Distribution could not decide who should throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Lynx game against Rochester tomorrow night, so a whole office full of people will do it.

Enbridge employees will start a chain of pitches from their office at the corner of Coventry Rd. and Belfast Rd. all the way to the Lynx Stadium mound. One Enbridge employee will throw to another, who will throw to the next and so on, all the way down Coventry Rd. as part of the Enbridge Corporate Safety Challenge.

The pitch actually started this journey at Enbridge's New York office and will arrive at the Ottawa office tomorrow for its trip down Coventry Rd. to Lynx Stadium

The first pitch will start at the Enbridge office at 400 Coventry Rd. at 6:50 pm and make its final throw from Ottawa Enbridge Gas Distribution General Manager Will Akkermans to the catcher's glove at home plate at 6:55 pm. Game time is 7:05 pm on $2 Concessions Wednesday, presented by The Ottawa Citizen.

Lynx Head Towards History: Going into tonight's game in Scranton, the Lynx have 999 regular-season wins in franchise history. They head home for the final six games of the season starting tomorrow night. Gary Burnham currently sits at 81 RBI on the season, four short of the team single-season record, set in 1994 by Shane Andrews.

This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx Box Office is Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Ticket information can be found at www.ottawalynx.com or by calling 613 747-LYNX (5969).
