INDIANAPOLIS - The Indians finished off a 6-2 homestand with a doubleheader split against the Bisons on Sunday afternoon, dropping the first game 2-1 before prevailing in the second contest, 2-0. The Tribe received a dominant spot start from Damien Magnifico in Game 2, as the right-hander threw 5.0 innings of one-hit ball in his first start since Aug. 2014.

Playing as the away team in the nightcap, the Indians (58-48) looked right at home thanks to Magnifico and Jesus Liranzo (W, 2-1). The duo combined on a one-hitter, scattering three walks and a hit batter with five strikeouts in Indy's league-high 13th shutout.

The game was scoreless until Indy's final at-bat in the seventh. Bisons starter Matt Tracy was removed after six shutout frames, but reliever Craig Breslow (L, 0-1) couldn't get through his inning unscathed. Ryan Lavarnway doubled over the head of left fielder Darnell Sweeney to start the inning. Jason Martin then walked before Pablo Reyes raced down the line for a bunt single, loading the bases with no outs. Erich Weiss and Kevin Newman followed with run-scoring infield singles.

The first game was settled in the sixth. With the score all even at 1-1, Brandon Waddell (L, 4-6) issued a two-out walk to Sweeney. The final pitch during the sequence was Waddell's 105th of the game, the most by a Tribe starter in 2018. Dovydas Neverauskas took over in relief and saw the inherited baserunner streak around the bases on an RBI double by Tim Lopes.

Roberto Osuna (H, 2) and Justin Shafer (S, 9) kept the Indians off the board in the final two innings to snap Indy's five-game winning streak.

Buffalo (47-55) struck first against Waddell, scoring one in the second on a Sweeney sacrifice fly to left. The liner to Jerrick Suiter drove in Anthony Alford, who had doubled to open the frame.

Indy scored its lone run in Game 1 in the fourth. The Tribe's first three batters reached base - Christopher Bostick and Jacob Stallings singled ahead of a Kevin Kramer walk. Wyatt Mathisen then chopped a 2-2 offering by Zach Stewart (W, 1-0) to third to start an around-the-horn twin killer, scoring Bostick from third.

The Indians took four of five games from the Bisons in the series and went 5-2 against them overall in 2018. The Tribe are 17-8 against International League North Division opponents this season.

The Indians begin a crucial seven-game road trip on Monday night in Columbus. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT. Right-hander J.T. Brubaker (6-3, 3.74) will oppose Clippers righty Mitch Talbot (3-4, 3.11) in the series opener.
