Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs were unable to complete their sweep of Columbus, falling 14-8 on Sunday afternoon. Even with the loss, the Pigs took the season series from Columbus four games to two, and Lehigh Valley maintains their eight game lead in the IL-North Divison.

The Clippers never let off of the peddle, as they plated five runs in the second inning against Enyel De Los Santos (9-4). As the Pigs had dreams of another come-from-behind win, Adam Rosales dashed those hopes with a three-run home run in the fifth to push the game out of reach. Rosales finished 4-for-4 with two doubles and two home runs.

The Pigs collected a pair of two-run innings against reliever Stephen Fife, thanks to RBIs from Dylan Cozens and Colin Cowgill, while Dean Anna went 1-for-4 to extend his season-best hitting streak to 17 games. Lehigh Valley rattled off a few more runs in the eighth inning against Fife, and a run in the ninth against Jon Edwards, but they were unable to recover.

The IronPigs will hit the road four a five-game series against the Buffalo Bisons starting tomorrow. It will be the last time the Pigs see the Toronto affiliate this season, with first pitch coming at 7:05 p.m. as Tom Eshelman takes the mound for Lehigh Valley.
