First pitch for the Monday, June 30 game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., while the first pitch for the Tuesday, July 1 contest will be at 6:35 p.m., due to the RiverDogs' Independence Day celebration at The Joe.

Monday marks another Dogs With a Cause Night presented by The Drive 100.5 FM and Glasspro. The RiverDogs partner with Crisis Ministries, a local non-profit organization, to generate exposure and funds for their cause.

It will be a scene-setter for the following evening on July 1 for yet another BI-LO Two for Tuesday, presented by BI-LO) and Clear Channel Communications, with two-for-one discounts on upper reserve, lower reserve and general admission seats at the park for those that show a BI-LO card at the box office. The RiverDogs will also hold their annual Independence Day Celebration, which has sold out each of the last two seasons with the same numbers expected again in 2008.

Due to the mass crowd expected, gates open at 5 p.m. for this contest with the first pitch scheduled 30 minutes earlier than usual. In-game promotions feature an apple pie eating contest, hula hoop contest and a bobbing for apples contest, as the RiverDogs celebrate the 232nd birthday of the United States. The evening concludes with the most spectacular fireworks display in the city of Charleston that will undoubtedly electrify the Lowcountry sky.

After these two games, Charleston ventures for a four-game road trip against the Augusta GreenJackets, a San Francisco Giants affiliate, at Lake Olmstead Stadium from July 2-5. Following a rare off-day on July 6, the RiverDogs begin their first eight-game homestand of the second half, hosting the Lexington Legends, a Houston Astros affiliate, and the West Virginia Power, a Milwaukee Brewers affiliate, in a pair of four-game sets from July 7-14.
