June 26, 2008 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Lake County Captains News Release
If you have ever wanted to throw out a first pitch at Classic Park, then you'll have your chance on June 27th. The Captains will be having a "Community First Pitch" on Friday, June 27 at Classic Park. The Captains will be competing against their sister club the Lancaster JetHawks to see which team can get the most fans to throw out first pitches that day.
Captains fans are invited to come to the ballpark from 11:00am - 3:30pm and throw a first pitch. Each participant will have the opportunity to enter an exclusive raffle for great door prizes and the winners will be notified via email. In addition, the Captains will allow fans to test their throwing velocity in the Mojo Pitching Cage at no charge.
There will be a lunch package available for only $6 for fans spending their lunch hour at the park. The lunch package will be available in a cafeteria line in the Left Field Picnic Plaza and it will include a choice of a hamburger, hot dog, or bratwurst, plus a soda and a cookie. Participants do not need a ticket to take part in the Community First Pitch. The gates and the cafeteria line will close at 3:30pm. Anyone participating, who has a ticket to the game that night will be re-admitted at the normal time of 6:00 PM.
