Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws will host their annual Troop Supply Drive at FirstEnergy Park on Monday, July 7th as part of Military Appreciation Night.

Boxes will be set up in front of the ballpark for fans to drop off a variety of items. The list of items in need includes razors, snacks, baby wipes, shampoo, soap, non-chocolate candy and sweets, sun block (SPF 40 or higher), lip balm, writing utensils, silly string, deodorant, tissues, q-tips, white socks, batteries, insect repellant with Deet, and flashlights.

The Troop Supply Drive is in conjunction with the Monmouth-Ocean Central Labor Council Military Committee, Monmouth-Ocean Building Trade Council, National Guard, and Toms River Armory.

The BlueClaws will also continue to collect gently used cell phones as part of the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. Bring your used cell phone to the NJR Information Booth behind home plate during any BlueClaws game to donate.

"Military Appreciation Night and the Troop Supply Drive are among the most rewarding things we participate in here at FirstEnergy Park," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "We hope that fans will give generously to support the people that risk their lives on a daily basis to make this country safe."

Ceremonies for the 7:05 p.m. game with the Augusta GreenJackets will begin at 6:15 at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws have the most affordable ticket for professional baseball in New Jersey. Lakewood will return home for a two-game series starting on Saturday. Don't miss Red Sox legend Jim Rice when he visits FirstEnergy Park on Sunday to meet fans and sign autographs, thanks to Bob's Stores. For tickets or more information call 732-901-7000 or visit the BlueClaws website at BlueClaws.com.
