Idaho Beats Utah 6-5 in Overtime Preseason Game

Logan, Utah - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-5 Friday night in preseason action from Eccles Ice Center. The two teams will meet again Saturday. Face-off in Boise is at 7:10 p.m.

The Grizzlies took an early 1-0 lead, battled back from a 3-1 deficit to take 4-3 and 5-4 leads in the third period, before Idaho tied late and won in overtime on a four-on-three power-play goal.

Utah goaltenders Igor Babkov and Aaron Dell split action in the game and each allowed three goals.

Adam Pineault was Utah's lone player with multiple-points, tallying two assists.

Berkley Scott, Vinny Scarsella, Dylen McKinlay, David Vallorani and Jamie MacQueen all scored for Utah.

Utah scored two of their five goals on the power-play, Idaho scored three of their six goals on the one-man advantage.

Utah opens the regular season Friday, October 18 against Idaho at Maverik Center at 7:05 p.m.
