Eagles Trade for Defenseman Mark Nemec

WINDSOR, Colo. - The Colorado Eagles announced Friday that they have completed a trade with the Orlando Solar Bears, sending defenseman Mark Nemec to Colorado in exchange for future considerations.

Nemec, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Rouses Point, New York spent five seasons at the University of Maine, including a senior season which saw him serve as the captain for the Black Bears. Nemec now joins Kyle Ostrow and Paul Phillips as former captains of their respective NCAA teams to join the Eagles roster for the upcoming season.

After completing his collegiate career, the 25 year-old went on to play six games for the Solar Bears late last season, notching a pair of assists.

Nemec began the 2013-14 season in the training camps of both the Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL and the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL. He is expected to join the Eagles as they travel to Bakersfield to begin the regular season on Friday, October, 18th.
