Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced Saturday that the Rockford IceHogs have recalled goaltender Carter Hutton from the Toledo Walleye (ECHL). Additionally, goaltender Brad Fogal was released from his professional try-out.
Hutton has backstopped the Walleye in one game this season, stopping 17-of-22 chances. The 26 year-old appeared in 22 games for the Worcester Sharks (AHL) in 2010-11, posting an 11-7-2 record with a goals-against average of 3.01 and a save percentage of .902 with two shutouts.
The Thunder Bay, Ontario native also backed up with the San Jose Sharks for 13 games last season. Combined with a short stint with the Adirondack Phantoms (AHL) in 2009-10, the 6-1, 184-pound goaltender has compiled a 12-9-3 record at the pro level with a 2.96 GAA and a .912 SPCT.
Fogal, 25, backed up Alec Richards in Peoria on Friday night and is in his first professional season with the Quad City Mallards (CHL). The Sharon, Ontario native recently completed a four-year college career with the Adrian Bulldogs (NCAA) and hasn't appeared in any games with the Mallards.
Next Home Game: Sunday, Oct. 6 vs. Charlotte Checkers. The puck drops at 5:05 p.m. as the Checkers make their first ever visit to the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 1,000 kids (14 and under) will receive an IceHogs puck. Bring your skates for the first "Skate with the Hogs" following the game.
