P-Bruins Fall to Sound Tigers 3-2

Bridgeport, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 3-2 Saturday evening at the Webster Bank Arena. The P-Bruins got their goals from Stefan Chaput and Zach Hamill. The P-Bruins are back at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday for Poster Night at 4:05 p.m. against the St. John's IceCaps.

The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 17:21 mark of the opening period. Lane MacDermid chased after the puck in the Sound Tigers zone and fed it back to Hamill at the right point. He shot the puck towards the goal where it was redirected into the net by Chaput for his third goal of the season. Providence took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The Sound Tigers tied the game at one at the 10:41 mark of the second period. Justin DiBenedetto tallied his eighth goal of the season, while Tim Wallace recorded the lone assist. The game went into the second intermission tied at one.

Bridgeport took its first lead of the game at the 8:09 mark of the third period. Casey Cizikas netted his first goal of the season, while Wallace and Ty Wishart grabbed the assists. Providence tied the game at two at the 12:02 mark. Carter Camper worked the puck into the zone and left it for Kyle MacKinnon, who put a shot on net. The rebound came to Hamill who fired it into the net for his fifth goal of the season. The Sound Tigers took the lead for good with 18.7 seconds left in regulation. Cizikas scored his second goal of the game, while Wallace had the lone assist as the Sound Tigers went onto the 3-2 victory.

Michael Hutchinson stopped 25 of 28 shots for the P-Bruins, while Anders Nilsson made 32 saves for the Sound Tigers. The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend at The Dunk Sunday for Poster Night at 4:05 p.m. against the IceCaps.
