HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Mike Condon made 26 saves on 28 shots and forward Christian Thomas scored his first of the season, but the 'Dogs (1-0-2-0) fell in overtime for the second consecutive night, this time 2-1 to the Rockford IceHogs (2-1-0-0) at FirstOntario Centre on Saturday evening.

Thomas opened the scoring at 2:50 of the first period when he poked home a loose puck in an open Rockford crease. Forwards Nick Sorkin and T.J. Hensick drew assists.

IceHogs forward Joakim Nordstrom tied the game 1-1 at 2:42 of the second period, with assists from defenceman Klas Dahlbeck and forward Mark McNeill.

After a scoreless third, the two teams went to overtime, where Rockford forward Peter Regin potted a shot off a rebound past Condon while three-on-three to win it for the IceHogs. Forward Alex Broadhurst and defenceman Kyle Cumiskey had assists.

Condon's counterpart Scott Darling stopped 34 of 35 shots for the IceHogs in the win.

Hamilton went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Rockford was 0-for-2.

Hamilton returns to game action on Friday, Oct. 24 when the club will visit the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum at 7 p.m. The 'Dogs will be back at home on Saturday, Oct. 25 when they'll host the San Antonio Rampage at FirstOntario Centre at 7 p.m.
