
ICEHOGS AIM FOR WEEKEND SPLIT WITH MATCHUP AGAINST GRIFFINS

ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs seek to rebound from just their second loss of the season as they host the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The Hogs previously defeated the Griffins 3-2 in a shootout on Oct. 20 in Rockford.
Doors open at 3 p.m. for fans to browse a variety of specialty vendor booths as part of Geeks and Goblins Night. For a full list of vendors.
Puck drop is at 6 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on Cozi TV 23.3 or Dish Network Channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 5:30 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at sportsfanradio1330.com or watch live at AHLlive.com (subscription required).
Matchup: The IceHogs (6-2-0-0, 2nd Central) enter today's game after snapping their four-game winning streak with a 5-2 home loss to the Milwaukee Admirals Friday night.
Vinnie Hinostroza continues to lead the team in scoring with 4g-6a-10pts despite his point streak coming to an end in Friday's loss. Tomas Jurco follows with 3g-5a-8pts, including two goals in his last two games. Defenseman Erik Gustafsson leads the IceHogs' blueliners in points and is tied for fifth among AHL defensemen with 2g-4a-6pts in six games. Rockford's goaltenders have combined for a 2.44 GAA and a .921 save percentage through eight games.
Grand Rapids (3-4-0-1, 5th Central) takes the ice following their first win in five games. Their 5-3 win over the Chicago Wolves Friday night was propelled by a hat trick from Matt Lorito.
The trio of Dominic Turgeon, Turner Elson and Colin Campbell leads the Griffins with seven points apiece. Eric Tangradi, who potted both Grand Rapids goals in their last meeting with Rockford, has also notched three points. Between the pipes, Jared Coreau has taken the lion's share of starts, and sports a 2.74 GAA and a .911 save percentage through six contests.
Next Home Game: The IceHogs return to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Nov. 10 to take on the San Antonio Rampage on Pucks & Paws Night. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the BMO for this special occasion, and the first 1,500 through the doors will receive a plush Otis dog toy, courtesy of Riverside Dental.
