San Diego Gulls News Release

SAN DIEGO - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned center Kalle Kossila and defenseman Steven Oleksy to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kossila, 24 (4/14/93), recorded 1-12 points in two games with Anaheim following his Oct. 23 recall from the Gulls. Kossila earned his first career NHL point (assist) in a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 24 at the Wells Fargo Center and scored his first career NHL goal vs. Florida's James Reimer on Oct. 26 at the BB&T Center. Kossila has earned 2-46 points with six penalty minutes (PIM) in five AHL games with San Diego this season. The 5-10, 185-pound center currently co-leads the Gulls in scoring, ranks tied for second in assists and tied for third in goals.

Oleksy, 31 (2/4/86), did not appear in Thursday's game in Florida following his recall from San Diego earlier in the day. Oleksy returns to the Gulls having collected 2-24 points with a +2 rating and four PIM in five AHL games. The 6-0, 188-pound defenseman has recorded points in three of his five games, while leading Gulls defensemen in goals and ranking tied for second in scoring.
