November 4, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Louisiana IceGators News Release

Lafayette, LA – Louisiana IceGators Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Todd Gordon today announced the team has signed Goaltender Nathan Marsters to a standard ECHL contract for the 2004-05 season.

The 24 year-old netminder comes to the IceGators after a stellar career at RPI. In four seasons, Marsters amassed a record of 57-50-5. During his senior season, the 6'4", 200lb Marsters was impressive, earning a record of 21-13-1, a GAA of 2.15 and a save percentage of .922.

"I believe Nathan Marsters can be an outstanding goalie at this level," said Gordon. "With his size, speed and natural ability, it should not be very long before he shows what he is capable of doing in the nets."

A native of Grimsby, Ontario, Marsters was a 5th round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2000 NHL entry draft, the 165th player taken overall.

"I am excited to show my ability at the professional level," said Marsters. "I can't think of a better opportunity than the one I have right here in Louisiana."

After selling more than 700 tickets yesterday, the IceGators are closing in on a sellout for Opening Night. Tickets are available at the Cajundome Box Office, and all TicketMaster outlets and online at www.ticketmaster.com. For more information call the IceGators office at (337) 234-4423.
