SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Gulls look for their third straight win and attempt to climb into first place when they host the Florida Everblades Thursday night at the Sports Arena.

SERIES HISTORY:

This is the third all-time meeting between the Gulls and Everblades. The two teams clashed twice last season, with Florida holding a 1-0-1 series edge. Tonight is the only regular season match-up between the West Division Gulls and South Division Everblades.

LAST GAME (NOV. 3 VS. ALASKA ACES):

Mike Garrow scored the game-tying goal with 4:22 left in regulation and Trevor Koenig was perfect in the shootout, leading the Gulls to a 4-3 victory over the Aces. Alaska jumped ahead 1-0 before San Diego scored back-to-back goals to go ahead 2-1. The Aces, however, reversed the score again with two straight goals before Garrow tied it. In the shootout, Mark Pederson and Billy Tibbetts scored for the Gulls, while Koenig stopped all four Alaska shooters.

GULLS UPDATE:

The Gulls (3-2-1) enter the day third in the West Division, one point behind the Bakersfield Condors and Idaho Steelheads. Bakersfield and Idaho are tied atop the division with eight points apiece... San Diego has won two straight and is unbeaten in four of its last five games (3-1-1)... The Gulls have killed 24 of their last 25 penalties... After hosting Florida tonight the Gulls will play three straight games against Bakersfield...

OTHER NOTES:

Both Billy Tibbetts and Darren Clark are in the midst of five-game point streaks... Clark leads the club with eight points (4g, 4a), all of which have come during his point streak... Tibbetts has seven points (4g, 3a) during his point streak... Koenig is 3-0-1 with a 2.05 goals-against average and .938 save percentage. He has allowed two goals in each of his four appearances so far this season... Mark Pederson, who led the ECHL with 44 goals last season, is yet to light the lamp this season. Pederson didn't go more than four games without scoring a goal last season...

FLORIDA UPDATE:

Florida (3-2-0) begins the day with six points, tied for second in the South Division with the Pensacola Ice Pilots. The Everblades and Ice Pilots are both three points behind the first-place Gwinnett Gladiators... Damian Surma leads the league with 12 points and seven goals. He's also atop the ECHL with a +9 rating... Surma was named as the ECHL Player of the Month for October and Plus Performer of the Month. He is also the reigning ECHL Player of the Week... Reggie Berg, who was just placed on the 30-day injured list, is second in the ECHL with 11 points and tied for first with six assists... Florida has only killed 68 percent of its penalties this season, second worst in the 28-team league... After playing in San Diego tonight, the Everblades play two in Long Beach and three in Idaho...

TRANSACTIONS:

After injuring his groin last night against the Aces, Mathieu Chouinard was placed on the seven-day injured list... Jared Sron was signed as the emergency back-up goaltender... Stephane St. Amour, younger brother of Martin St. Amour, signed yesterday... Sean Murphy was activated from injured reserve on Friday... Nick Ganga was signed on Friday... Sean O'Connor remains with the American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks... Sylvain Deschatelets, still recovering from offseason wrist surgery, remains on the injured list...
