IceDogs Squish Fish 4-1

December 4, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release

The Niagara IceDogs took the back end of their home and home with the Mississauga Steelheads by a score of 4-1 in Mississauga on Friday night.

The goaltenders were the story in the first period as each side had some solid chances, but things would ultimately remain scoreless after one. Shots after 20 were 11-10 Mississauga.

The IceDogs would get on the board first in the second period as Anthony DiFruscia would rip home his 13th of the season to make it 1-0. That would be the lone goal of the frame as the visitors headed to the third up one. Shots after two were 21-18 for the home side.

Johnny Corneil would get the IceDogs off to just the start they were looking for in the third, putting one home at the side of the net to make it a 2-0 IceDogs lead. Mississauga would answer back on the powerplay to make it a 2-1 game before Corneil would strike with his second of the night to make it a 3-1 game. Josh Ho-Sang picked up an assist on the play to extend his point streak to 18 games. Ho-Sang would then go on to add an empty netter to help seal the 4-1 IceDogs victory. Final shots were 28-27 Steelheads.

The IceDogs will return to action Tuesday in Peterborough before hosting the visiting Saginaw Spirit next Thursday, December 10th at 7pm. Tickets for this and all other IceDogs home games are still available and can be purchased at any IceDogs ticketing location!
