December 4, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes' annual Teddy Bear Toss night will take place this upcoming Tuesday, December 8 when the Petes take on the visiting Niagara IceDogs at the Peterborough Memorial Centre at 7:05pm.
When the Petes score their first goal of the game, fans will be invited to throw their new stuffed toys onto the ice. At that time, volunteers from local schools and minor hockey teams help will collect the toys from the ice, which will be counted and delivered by Winslow-Gerolamy Motors Limited to the Energy 99.7/Country 105 Miracle Toy Drive.
This year, every fan who purchases a regular-price ticket for the game will receive a "Ticket and a Teddy" voucher, which they can redeem on the night of the game for a free stuffed toy which can be thrown onto the ice during the game. Additional stuffed toys will be available at the Guest Experience Desk in the North Lobby by making a donation to the annual Toy Drive.
If the Petes score their first goal in the final two minutes of the first or second period, the period will immediately end with the remaining time added on to the next period. If the home team does not score until the 10-minute mark of the third period, fans will be prompted to throw their toys onto the ice during the TV timeout - the first whistle after the 10-minute mark in the third.
The Petes have won eight of their last ten games and are in a battle for the top seed in the OHL's Eastern Conference. Great seats are still available for next Tuesday's Teddy Bear Toss game by visiting the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office online, in person, or by calling (705) 743-3561.
