IceDogs Drop a Close One to the Knights

Niagara IceDogs News Release
The IceDogs came up just short on Friday night, falling at the hands of London in a close battle which concluded with a Knights 3-1 victory.
In some back-and-forth action to start the game, both teams were limited to the number of quality scoring chances throughout the frame. Niagara showed off their penalty killing abilities in the period, fending off both of the Knights strong offensive attacks. With 15 seconds remaining before both teams were headed down the tunnel for intermission, IceDogs forward Brendan Perlini fired his 18th of the season past the London net minder, giving Niagara a 1-0 lead heading into the second.
IceDogs goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic was proving why he is one of the best in the league in the second period, stopping a number of London scoring chances including a diving poke check to deter a Knights breakaway. Niagara put on a strong defensive performance to carry a one goal lead into the last period.
London came out of the intermission ready to dictate the pace of the game, scoring a goal 19 seconds in. A few minutes later London added another, putting Niagara down by one early on in the frame. Despite their best efforts, including pulling their goaltender in the final minutes for the extra attacker, the Icedogs were unable to come back in this one.
The IceDogs next home game is Sunday, February 14th as they take on a Valentines date with the Mississauga Steelheads. Tickets for this game, which will include a special surprise during the second intermission, are available for purchase at all IceDogs ticket locations.
