Ice Dogs Winners Over Victoria, 4-1

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs (21-11-3) reversed the score of last nights' 4-1 loss to San Diego with a 4-1 victory over Victoria (7-22-4) Saturday night. The Ice Dogs improved to 6-0-0 against the Salmon Kings this season. The Ice Dogs remain in second place in the West Division with 45 points.

Long Beach opened the scoring just 1:06 into the game, when Marco Rosa scored with assists from Joe Cardarelli and newly acquired defenseman, Kevin Truelson. At 15:56 of the first, Dan Watson notched his second goal of the season, assisted by Nathan Martz and Chris Kenady.

Former Ice Dog Mike Josephson scored Victoria's lone goal midway through the second period on the power play to cut the Ice Dogs' lead to 2-1 as it would remain until the third. Chris Kenady scored a power play goal 6:54 into the third period and David Walker finished things off with his third goal in three games.

Olivier Michaud made 27 saves in the win, while improving his record to 8-7-3. He has started five of the six games this season against Victoria, winning all five. Kelly Shields made 32 saves in the loss for Victoria. The Ice Dogs finished 1-3 on the power play while Victoria went 1-6.

The Ice Dogs' next game is tomorrow night, again versus the Victoria Salmon Kings. After tomorrows game the teams will had back to Victoria for another two game series. Call (562) ICE-DOGS or visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
