Cory Murphy found the back of the net for Fresno at 2:18 in the third to tie the game and send the two teams to their second shootout in as many nights. Long Beach was out shot in the final period 15-4.

J.P. O'Connor scored as the first shooter for Long Beach, and Buzak stopped the first four Falcons he faced, however, Kris Porter sent the shootout into sudden death with his goal. Glen Gulutzan gave Fresno (10-10-3) their second shootout victory against the Ice Dogs.
