FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride will look to make history tonight when they host the Greenville Grrrowl at the Flornce Civic Center at 7:30 p.m.
With last night's 6-5 overtime win at Greenville, the Knoxville/Pee Dee franchise has 499 wins in its 15-year history. If Pee Dee defeats Greenville tonight, the franchise will be the first in ECHL history to win 500 games. The Pride's 499 all-time wins are 17 more than Wheeling, who is in second place. Earlier this season, Pee Dee became the first franchise to win 300 home games in league history. The Pride also have a chance to become the first team in league history to reach the 200 road win mark. Pee Dee is second all time with 197 road wins, one fewer than Wheeling.
The Pride franchise was a charter member of the East Coast Hockey League, playing in Knoxville, Tennessee from 1988-1997. Since moving to Florence for the 1997-98 season, the Pride have won 226 games, the third most in the league over that span, trailing only Louisiana and Peoria.
Tickets for tonight's game are available at the Florence Civic Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (843) 679-9333 or www.ticketmaster.com.
