Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
Allen, Texas (December 17)- The bad blood that began between the Fort Worth Fire (Texas Brahmas) and the Dallas Freeze (Allen Americans) has continued to boil over for their reincarnation of the Texas Brahmas and the Allen Americans during the first game of the Fire and Ice Vintage Game Series this season. The Fire came out to play, but ultimately the Freeze cooled their jets for their fourth straight win against the Brahmas 5-3.
The Brahmas struck first when Greg Hogeboom burned goal tender Scott Campbell with 4:46 left in the first period with assists from Dan Reidel and Jason Krischuk. In less than a minute and a half, the Brahmas added fuel to that flame when Chris Moran put another in to give them a 2-0 lead. The goals kept adding up in the when Brian McMillin answered for the Americans and beat Wayne Savage at the net with 2:41 left and cut the Brahmas lead 2-1 by the end of the first period.
The goals kept piling up when the Americans opened up the second period with a score from forward Judd Blackwater on a Power Play to tie things up 2-2 only 3:33 into the second period. Within three minutes, the Americans scored again on a one man advantage with Jaret Lukin putting one through the pipes and past Savage to give the Americans the 3-2 advantage.
Moran opened up the third period by scoring at the 17:38 mark tying up the game for the Brahmas 3-3, but Justin DaCosta answered right back with a goal at the 14:46 mark to give the Americans the lead again. Once Allen took the lead, they never let go. A last minute effort by the Brahmas by pulling goal tender Savage gave the Americans an empty net for David Nimmo to score the final goal of the game and give Allen a 5-3 win.
Texas returns to the NYTEX Sports Centre, Saturday, December 18 to host Odessa for a 7:30 PM faceoff. For ticket information please contact the Brahmas at (817) 336-4423 or visit www.brahmas.com.
