Allen Regains Top Spot on Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

December 17, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

TEMPE, AZ (December 17, 2010) - The first two-time recipient of the #1 spot on the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Polls is the Allen Americans who take over the top spot from the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs who come in at #2, two points behind the Americans. Allen was #1 on the poll released Nov. 17 but fell to #2 in the Dec. 1 poll. The Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.

The Americans received 10 of the possible first place votes followed by the Mudbugs who appeared at the top of seven ballots. The Colorado Eagles, #3 on the most recent poll, received the other first place vote.

The team that made the biggest jump in the most recent poll is the Bloomington PrairieThunder who moved from #8 to #4, while the biggest fall belongs to the Dayton Gems who come in #10 on the most recent poll, dropping from #6.

The only new sweater on the current poll is the hottest team in the league, the Tulsa Oilers, who had their six-game streak end on Tuesday. They come in at the #8 spot on the current poll, while the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees are the team that exits the poll.
