Milwaukee Admirals News Release

Milwaukee Admirals defenseman Andrew Hutchinson has been added to the PlanetUSA All-Star Roster for the 2004 Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic. Hutchinson will line up against teammates Curtis Murphy and Scottie Upshall who were earlier named to the Canadian All-Star Team.

Hutchinson, a native of Evanston, IL, has split time this year between Milwaukee and the Nashville Predators, the Admirals' parent club. Playing his third season in Milwaukee, the 6-2, 204-pound blueliner has notched 13 points (6g-7a) and a +12 rating in 23 games. During his career with the Admirals Hutchinson has scored 15 goals and dished out 25 assists in 91 games.

For the Preds, Hutchinson has registered four points (2g-2a) in 12 games, including his first career NHL goal in a 4-3 overtime win versus the Colorado Avalanche. He also dished out two assists on December 18 at Montreal. In addition, the Michigan State Alum's +6 rating places him tied for third among NHL rookies.

Nashville's fourth pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Hutchison earned Second Team All-American honors his senior year in Lansing. He finished his collegiate career with 78 points (19g-59a) in 160 games. The PlanetUSA Team, comprising players born in the United States and Europe, includes 21 skaters and three goaltenders. AHL fans determined the starting lineup via on-line balloting at theahl.com, while a committee of AHL coaches selected the remainder of the roster.

The 2004 Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic gets underway this coming Sunday, February 8, with the AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 7:00 p.m. ET. The annual All-Star Game follows at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday, February 9.
