Duluth Huskies News Release

Duluth, Minn - The St. Cloud Rox beat the Duluth Huskies handily Tuesday night on the back of a stellar pitching performance from RJ Martinez.

Both teams marked up a run in the first inning. The Huskies scored by way of an RBI from Aaron Greenfield to score the leadoff man, Dexter Swims.

After the first inning, both starting pitchers, Austin Smith, and RJ Martinez, settled in and cruised for the majority of the game.

St. Cloud scored in the third via a Brenden Tinsman RBI while the Huskies scored one in the fourth after a double in the right field gap by Danny Zimmerman pushed Ramon Enriquez across the plate.

Things started to fall apart for Duluth in the later innings, especially as the Huskies started to dive into their bullpen. The Rox scored one in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one run in the seventh. St. Cloud capped off their scoring in the eighth on a two-out Dexter Swims error that allowed one run to score.

RJ Martinez finished the day for St. Cloud going seven innings and giving up only two runs in route to the win. Austin Smith took tonight's loss. With tonight's loss, the Huskies fall to 5-3 on the season and now are split 1-1 with St. Cloud.

The Huskies are back in action tomorrow in Waterloo as they travel down to Iowa for a two-game series before returning home. Don't forget to follow the Huskies on our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for more news and info.
