Hunter to Make Rehab Start at Round Rock Monday

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Texas Rangers right-handed pitcher Tommy Hunter will make a rehab start Monday at The Dell Diamond as the Round Rock Express host the Nashville Sounds (Milwaukee Brewers). First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CDT.

Hunter, 24, opened the season on the disabled list with a strained groin. He made his first rehab appearance Thursday for Double-A Frisco against San Antonio. One of the Rangers' five first-round draft picks in 2007, Hunter allowed two runs on three hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4.0 innings.

Last season, Hunter was 13-4 with a 3.73 ERA in 23 outings - 22 starts - for the Rangers. He logged 68 strikeouts against 33 walks over 128.0 innings and recorded a save in his lone relief appearance. The University of Alabama product is 22-12 with a 4.45 ERA in 45 career Major League outings.

Round Rock opens the four-game series against Nashville with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch Friday. The series continues Saturday at 7:05 p.m., Sunday at 1:05 p.m. before Monday's finale.
