May 5, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants, return home to Chukchansi Park on Friday, May 6th for their third homestand of the 2011 season, a four-game series against the Tucson Padres, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres.
The homestand kicks off Friday at 7:05pm with a Central Valley tradition, Ag Night, presented by Bayer CropScience. The Grizzlies will join with local FFA and 4H groups to celebrate the rich agricultural history of the Central Valley. The organization will recognize the impact of the agricultural community in Fresno throughout the evening with themed in-game entertainment, including a petting zoo, a tractor exhibit and more. There will also be traditional post-game Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Bayer CropScience.
Saturday, May 7th brings with it the Grizzlies Nisei Baseball Tribute Night. The Grizzlies will honor the Japanese-American Nisei baseball leagues by wearing a throwback style jersey modeled after the old Fresno Athletic Club. As always, the jerseys will be signed by the players and auctioned off after the game with proceeds from the auction benefitting the Nisei Baseball Research Project. However the NBRP has graciously offered to donate half of their proceeds to the Japan Relief Fund to help those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami. Following the jersey auction, the Grizzlies will show the film American Pastime, a story of Japanese-American life and baseball during World War II, on the Chukchansi Park video board.
On Sunday, May 8th the Grizzlies are celebrating Mother's Day at the ballpark by donating $1 for every person in the park to the Central Valley Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cureé. Since its inception in 1999, over $1.9 million has been invested in community-based programs for breast cancer education, screening and treatment.
The homestand concludes Monday, May 9th at 12:05pm with a Business Person's Special! For just $15, fans get the best seat available plus a hot dog and a soda! Or, they can upgrade to The CRU Club and enjoy the ultimate luxury baseball experience along with a lunch buffet for just $25!
Monday is also another Monday Madness, presented by ABC 30 and Wild Water Adventure Park. Fans can enjoy a family entertainment package that includes two Field Level Reserve tickets, two hot dogs, two sodas, two Wild Water Adventure Park passes and two Blackbeard's Mini Golf passes. A total package value of over $100, Monday Madness is available to Grizzlies fans still for just $32 at every Monday home game in 2011.
The Fresno Grizzlies continue their 10th Pacific Coast League season at Chukchansi Park on Friday, May 6th, 2011 when they welcome the Tucson Padres to Downtown Fresno. Season tickets, mini-plan packages and single-game tickets are now available at the Chukchansi Park Box Office or by calling 559-320-TIXS.
