Lansing,MI - After shutting out the Lansing Lugnuts on Thursday evening, the Bowling Green Hot Rods scored a run in each of their first four innings and beat their Midwest League East foe by a score of 5-2 at Cooley Law School Stadium on Friday night.

En route to their second victory in a row, the Hot Rods got their scoring started with a RBI single by third basemen Adrian Rondon in the first inning off of Lugnuts starter Tayler Saucedo (L, 0-1) to take a 1-0 lead.

Bowling Green then got a RBI single by outfielder Jesus Sanchez in the second inning and a RBI single by catcher Jonah Heim in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead.

Each of the first three runs of the game was scored with two outs in their respective inning.

With Lugnuts reliever Griffin Glaude in for the fourth inning, Sanchez continued his big series with a RBI triple to score second basemen Robbie Tenerowicz to make the score 4-0.

One night after hitting his first homer of the year while driving in two runs and scoring three more, Sanchez finished the evening 2-for-5 at the plate with two more runs batted in.

Just like it was the previous night, the early offense was plenty for the Hot Rods pitching staff, this time led by lefty Travis Ott (W, 1-1).

Six days after being chased from a start after the first inning against Fort Wayne, Ott responded and tossed six scoreless frames against Lansing. He gave up three hits while striking out five and walking just two batters.

To secure the win for the Hot Rods and Ott, righty Spencer Jones and lefty Dalton Moats (S, 1) combined to give up a pair of runs through their three innings of work.

With the win, the Hot Rods have now held the Lugnuts to four or fewer runs in 21 straight games dating back to the 2016 season.

The Hot Rods will try to secure a series victory against the Lugnuts on Saturday. In game three of their four-game series, Ethan Clark is expected to toe the rubber for Bowling Green while Lansing will counter with righty Andy Ravel.

First pitch is at 1:05 p.m. central time at Cooley Law School Stadium.
