Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Bowling Green, Ky. - Six 2015 Bowling Green Hot Rods have earned promotions to High-A Charlotte (FSL), and former Hot Rods have also earned the honor of jumping up a peg in the Tampa Bay farm system, ranging from Charlotte to Triple-A Durham.

Southpaw Blake Snell has been the talk of the minor leagues throughout the 2015 season and has advanced from High-A Charlotte all the way to Triple-A Durham, where he holds a 1.93 ERA after three starts with the Bulls. In each of his first three outings for Durham, the 2013 and 2014 Hot Rod has allowed just one earned run but owns a 1-2 record, while receiving three runs of support in his two losses. In the Tar Heel State, Snell finds himself sharing a pitching staff with former Hot Rods Dylan Floro, Andrew Bellatti and the recently demoted Matt Moore.

While Double-A Montgomery lost Snell, the Biscuits got another power arm in the form of Taylor Guerrieri, who earned a promotion on July 26 after posting a 2-2, 2.14 record with Charlotte. In two starts in Dixie, the Augusta, Ga. native has a 0-1, 4.50 record over just 8.0 innings, but tossed 5.0 innings of two-hit, shutout baseball in his last start on August 3 after getting rocked for four runs and six hits over 3.0 innings in his Biscuits debut. On the season, Guerrieri has punched out 51 batters while issuing just 14 free passes and has surrendered just one home run in 50.0 innings of work.

Of the six 2015 Hot Rods to earn a promotion to High-A Charlotte, Hunter Wood seems to be enjoying the most success in the Sunshine State. After registering a 1.82 ERA over 64.1 innings in Bowling Green, Wood has solidified his spot in the Stone Crabs rotation with a 1-1 record and a 1.42 ERA in three starts, giving up three runs in 19.0 innings while striking out 13. The Arkansas right-hander tossed 7.0 innings of three-hit, shutout baseball in his Stone Crabs debut on July 17 against the Tampa Yankees and is coming off a July 30 performance against the Lakeland Flying Tigers where he allowed one hit over 6.0 innings, while also striking out six.

Offensively, Jace Conrad has a .229 average with a home run and 10 RBI through 29 games with eight stolen bases and seven multi-hit games - most recently, a 2-for-3 night against the Dunedin Blue Jays on July 29.

Bowling Green is in the middle of a six-game road trip in the state of Iowa before returning to Bowling Green Ballpark on August 11 for a nine-game homestand. Tickets are available by calling (270) 901-2121 or by visiting www.bghotrods.com.
