Greensboro Grasshoppers News Release

GREENSBORO - There were 26 runs scored in the contest and 20 of them came from Kannapolis as the Intimidators jumped out to a 12-0 lead through the first three and a half innings en route to a 20-6 drubbing of Greensboro.

All 12 runs scored through the first four innings for Kannapolis were pinned on starter Kyle Kaminska and the Hoppers failed to get any closer than eight runs of the Intimidators through the rest of the contest.

Kannapolis' 20 runs allowed were the most in Hoppers' single-game history topping a previous high of 19 runs also scored by the Intimidators in their June 16, 2007 game.

Greensboro plated four in the fourth inning and added two more in the eighth. Emilio Ontiveros led the way with his 4-for-5 performance and Tyler Belcher played three different positions while driving in three runs. He began the game behind the plate before moving to first base. Belcher finished the night on the mound by saving the bullpen from exhausting itself for two more innings.

The Hoppers will wrap up their six-game homestand Sunday in the series finale against Kannapolis in a 5:00 p.m. game that will see RHP Alex Sanabia (2-2, 5.30) battle RHP Levi Maxwell (7-2, 3.46).

Postgame Quick Stats

Win - Johnnie Lowe (3-3); Loss - Kyle Kaminska (5-4); Save - None

Time - 3:04; Attendance - 7,521
