Intimidators Crush Grasshoppers 20-6 To Run Win Streak To Five

Greensboro, NC - The Intimidators (7-3) scored a season-high 20 runs on a season-high 23 hits to run their win streak to five games with a 20-6 win over Greensboro at NewBridge Bank Park. The 20 runs scored were the most allowed in the Grasshoppers team history.

Kannapolis scored in every inning but the fifth and ninth plating two runs in the first, four in the second, two more in the third and four in the fourth to jump out to 12-0 lead.

Mark Fleisher extended his hitting streak to 14 games (tying Matt Inouye for an Intimidators' season-high) by going 4-for-5 with two doubles, a walk, four RBI and two runs scored. Eduardo Escobar busted out of a 0-for-19 slump with four hits including two doubles. Escobar drove in four runs and scored four more.

The Intimidators crushed a season-best three home runs. Christian Marrero (4th) and John Curtis (2nd) went yard in the third inning with solo shots. Nick Damas pinch-hit for Sergio Miranda in the eighth inning and bombed a jack to left field for his first professional home run.

Oney Guillen made his Intimidators debut with a single in the eighth inning. Guillen was promoted to Kannapolis from Great Falls on Friday.

Adam Bowling (2-0) earned the win with four innings of relief giving up one earned run.

The Intimidators finish the roadtrip tomorrow night at 5:00pm in Greensboro against the Grasshoppers in the final game of a four-game series. Kannapolis is 5-0 in the first five games of this roadtrip.
