Reading Fightin Phils News Release
The Reading Fightin Phils fell to the Richmond Flying Squirrels , 6-3, in game one of the six game set. Luke Miller started things off with a solo shot to left and Colby Fitch sent a no-doubter out to center later in the contest.
Miller also recorded a double and scored on Fitch's homer. Daniel Brito and Matt Vierling tacked on singles for the only other hits of the night.
Colton Eastman (L, 0-3) took the ball initially going three full, allowing four hits and four runs. Kyle Glogoski came out first letting up just one run on two hits striking just five. In his Baseballtown debut, Billy Sullivan came in with two on and just one out, but induced a double play to get out of the inning easily. Zach Warren finished the job with just a solo shot crossing the board.
On the Richmond end, it was the bottom half of the lineup that delivered. Kyle Mottice's triple scored Shane Matheny in the first and then a sacrifice fly from pitcher Matt Frisbee allowed Mottice to cross. Francisco Tostado sent a two-run bullet across the fence in the sixth. The Flying Squirrels tacked on another in the sixth and one more in the seventh with the home run from Jacob Heyward.
Frisbee (W, 3-1) pitched a quality start with just three runs in six full innings. Norwith Gudino and Patrick Ruotolo (S, 4) were stellar in relief combining for 3.0 IP, no hits, and five strikeouts.
