(OTTAWA) July 9, 2008 - Arnprior's Tanner Watson is voted this week's Ottawa Rapidz Fan Favourite after pitching two quality starts in the last seven days.
The newest addition to the Rapidz starting rotation made a good impression last week, earning his first win as a Rapidz on Wednesday, July 2 in Sussex. In 15 innings he allowed four runs, three of them earned for an excellent 1.80 ERA. He gave up 12 hits and three walks, but also struck out an impressive 14 batters.
In three games since joining the Rapidz, Watson shows a 1-1 record, with a 3.27 ERA. He struck out 20 batters in 22 innings of work, and opposing batters hit for .225 against him, the third best this summer with the Rapidz.
Baseball fans can vote for their favourite Player of the Week at any Rapidz home game. Ballots are entered into a weekly contest to win a Suite Night with the Rapidz for 12!
