Brockton 3, New Jersey 1 (10 Innings)

Brockton broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the top of the 10th inning as the Rox beat the New Jersey Jackals at Yogi Berra Stadium this afternoon. SS Dom Ramos led the way offensively for Brockton going 4-for-5 with two runs scored. 3B Phillip Cuadrado also had a nice game for the Rox getting two hits in four at-bats along with driving in a run. Matt Zachary was the winner in relief for Brockton pitching one inning and allowing a hit while striking out one. He is now 1-0 on the season. CF Zach Smithlin had a three-hit day for New Jersey.

Ottawa 3, Atlantic City 2

@ Ottawa, ON. Time: 2:25 Attendance: 1,681

The Ottawa Rapidz took the early 2-0 lead by plating a run in the first inning and adding another in the second. After Atlantic City rallied to tie the score at 2-2 in the third, Ottawa scored again in the fourth and held on to win by that same margin. Rapidz starting pitcher Mike Kusiewicz allowed two runs on eight hits and fanned four through 6 1/3 innings to record his second win of the season. Surf starting pitcher Brian Rodaway also pitched well, allowing three runs, two earned, on nine hits while striking out eight in eight innings, but was stuck with the tough-luck loss.

Worcester 2, Nashua 2 (Suspended - Top 4)

@ Nashua, NH.

The game between Worcester and Nashua was suspended due to rain with the score tied 2-2 in the top of the fourth inning. The completion of the suspended game will played in its entirety on Friday in Worcester, MA. The regularly scheduled game will follow and consist of seven innings.

Quebec 9, Sussex 5

The Quebec Capitales moved within one game of the first half title with a win over Sussex. A loss by Worcester would have clinched the first half for Quebec, but the Tornadoes' game against Nashua was suspended due to rain. Quebec reliever Mark James picked up his third win of the season. He allowed just one hit while striking out four in 2 2/3 innings. Capitales 1B Eddie Lantigua led the way at the plate. He was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
