Holiday on Ice Returns this Saturday

Kalamazoo, MI- The Wings Stadium Complex, which is home to The Annex and The Cube, announce the Greater Kalamazoo Skating Club will host the 2012 Holiday on Ice this Saturday, December 15th at 7 p.m. at the Borgess Rink at Wings West.

The ice show will highlight the skating talents of the Greater Kalamazoo Skating Club along with special appearances by the Western Michigan University Synchronized Skating Teams.

Saturday will mark the ninth year that his showcase will be held at Wings West. Featuring skaters that will perform to spectacular holiday and other extraordinary music this will be a one of a kind performance! Perfect for the whole family, this event will also feature a special visit from Santa Claus.

The Greater Kalamazoo Skating Club was established in the fall of 2010, combining the Kalamazoo Figure Skating Club (established in 1963) and the Southwest Michigan Skating Club (established in 1989) and is home to National medalists. THE GKSA skaters have traveled the US and the World competing in many skating disciplines. The ice show is the perfect opportunity to showcase the athletic talents of our community's youth.

At the close of the performance, the public is invited to get on the ice and skate with the cast under the fabulous holiday decorations. With an ice show ticket admission and skate rental are free for the open skate. Otherwise admission for the open skate is $5.00 and $3.00 for skate rental.

Pre-sale tickets for adults are $10.00 while children can view the show for $5.00. For tickets, please contact Wings West Ice Events at (269) 743-4218. Tickets purchased at event will increase $2.

Stadium Management Company owns the Wings Stadium Complex, the Kalamazoo Wings hockey team, Wings West and the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings hockey team. The Wings Stadium Complex is comprised of three buildings; Wings Stadium seats more than 5,100 fans for K-Wings home games and more than 6,000 people for concerts and other stage events. The Annex seats 1,367 for ice events and can hold up to 2,850 for non-ice events such as car, boat, and trade shows. The Cube plays host to both ice and non-ice events. Wings West is comprised of two ice sheets plus Old Burdick's Restaurant at Wings West. The Borgess Ice Rink can accommodate more than 1,200 fans for Jr. K-Wings games. The Olympic Rink plays host to both ice and non-ice events. Both facilities are available for rental and feature numerous catering and meeting opportunities.
