Clarke ECHL Player of Week; Dainton Assigned to IceMen

EVANSVILLE, IN--- The Evansville IceMen proud ECHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets and the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Springfield Falcons and Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, in conjunction with the ECHL, have announced on this date that center DYLAN CLARKE has been acclaimed SHER-WOOD HOCKEY ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK for the week of December 3rd through December 9th.

CLARKE, 26, a second year pro from Belleville Ontario, was a supreme catalyst in the IceMen undefeated three games the past week as the surging Evansville club achieved 5 of a possible 6-points through a record of 3(2-0-1). For the week, the 6-2, 185lb pivot proficiently produced 7-points on 2-goals, 5-assists along with a sterling +6 rating.

The former All-American from SUNY-Plattsburgh launched his award-winning week by being instrumental on both of his team's goals; (1-1-2) FG last Wednesday night in Cincinnati in a 3-2 OTSO outcome against the Cyclones. Returning to home ice Friday night against Toledo, he fashioned a fabulous 4-assists including assists on all 3-of his team's goals in a record-breaking, history-making :45 late in the second period, erasing a 4-2 deficit and catapulting the IceMen into a lead they never relinquished at 5-4 in an ultimate 8-5 conquest of the Walleye. Clarke was named the #3 Star in the comeback victory. The recent acquisition from South Carolina capped his week's work with the key, touch-in-the-clutch IG in his team's 4-1 dismissal of Cincinnati in an encore engagement with the Cyclones with this one hosted by Evansville on Saturday night.

Clarke has been a major marquee marksman during the IceMen present tense 5-game unsullied skein, having engineered a 5-game point streak in which he has collected 11-points on 3-goals, 8-assists with a sparkling +7 rating.

Last season, his rookie pro season of 2011-12, Clarke starred for the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL, finishing the campaign tied for the team leadership with 64-points in 66-games on 29-goals, 35-assists. His 29-goals tied for the CHL rookie top perch while his 64-points placed him rookie runner-up. Clarke's 8-PPG were foremost among CHL rookies as well.

Prior to his pro career, he was a stellar standout in the collegiate ranks at Division I SUNY-Plattsburgh where in 4-years he amassed 139-points in 114-games on 67-goals, 72-assists. On behalf of Dylan Clarke, a case of pucks will be donated to an Evansville youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL.
