'Hogs Kick-Off Second Half of Summer Fun

Grand Prairie, TX. The Grand Prairie AirHogs return to QuikTrip Park on Tuesday night for a six-game homestand against the northern St. Paul Saints (7/13-7/15) and the coastal Pensacola Pelicans (7/16-7/18). Six nights of summer-fun plus two special events await AirHogs fans including the "Lady Gaga Pre-Monster Ball" promotion during the upcoming Boost Mobile/105.3 The Fan $1 Beer Thirsty Thursday, the third annual AirHogs "Girl Scout Campout" and "Military Night," plus the AirHogs final Baseball Camp for Kids (July 14-15) of the summer as well as the AirHogs Open Tryout (July 17).

Plus: Major League Baseball Hall-of-Famer Gaylord Perry will appear at QuikTrip Park on Sunday, July 18th to toss the ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs for fans. The MLB Alumni organization will also have autographed and authenticated silent auction items on tables for fans to bid on.

Perry is a Hall of Fame pitcher who threw in the Majors for 22 years from 1962 to 1983. He spent four seasons with the Texas Rangers from 1975-1977 and 1980. He also played for the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners and Kansas City Royals.

Perry is one of only four pitchers in Major League history to win the Cy Young award in both the American and National League. He was a five-time All-Star and finished his career with 314 wins and a 3.11 ERA.
