
Hitmen Take down Tigers, 3-1

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen started the second half of the season with a 3-1 win vs. the Medicine Hat Tigers after an eight day holiday break.
It was a slow start to the game with a scoreless first period and wasn't until the second period when Cael Zimmerman opened up the scoring with a power play goal with helpers from Anton Astashevich and Blake Allan.
At the ten minute mark in the third, the Hitmen struck again with Riley Fiddler-Schultz scoring his 14th of the season making the score 2-0. The Tigers cut the lead to 2-1 with 1:44 left to go in the third but Tyson Galloway quickly answered with an empty net goal to secure the Hitmen win.
Zimmerman notched his 200th WHL game with tonight's match. Fiddler-Schultz was the third star of the game, while net minder Brayden Peters earned the first star.
Calgary completes this home-and-home with the Tigers on Thursday, Dec. 30 with a visit to Medicine Hat. The Hitmen are then back at the 'Dome to ring in 2022 with a New Year's Day battle on Saturday. Jan 1 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Game Time is 2:00 p.m.
