Saskatoon Blades News Release

SASKATOON, SK - The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the acquisition of 2002-born forward Noah Boyko from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for 2004- born forward Hayden Smith and a third-round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.

Boyko, a product of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, has 155 WHL games under his belt, all of which with the Hurricanes. The former first-round selection from 2017 has 38 goals and 33 assists for 71 career points, along with 50 penalty minutes.

"Noah is exactly the kind of player we were looking for to fill a right-shot scoring role in our top-six," said general manager Colin Priestner. "He's going to add another level of firepower to our offence, while also contributing defensively with his size and work ethic. We're thrilled to bring Noah on board and welcome him into our group of well- established forwards this year and next year as a 20-year-old."

This season, the 6-foot-1, 191-pound forward has already set a new career high in goals (11), adding six assists for 17 points in 27 games.

Boyko is expected to make his Blades debut Thursday night, when Saskatoon welcomes Prince Albert to SaskTel Centre.

"His leadership traits will help develop some of our younger guys, while blending well with the older veterans on the team," added Priestner. "He has a great shot and has scored 5 goals in last 7 games so we think he's coming in with confidence. We feel with the addition of him and Gronick over the last two days we're a deeper, better team up front."

The Saskatoon Blades would like to thank Hayden for his commitment to Blades hockey for the last two years, and wish him well with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
