Hitmen Spread Scoring around in 6-1 Victory

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen received goals from six different players en-route to a 6-1 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Thursday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The win gives Calgary 17 of a possible 20 points in their last 10 games and moves the Hitmen into a tie for second place in the WHL's Central Division with Lethbridge, just two points behind the front running Red Deer Rebels.

Jordy Stallard, Jakob Stukel, Jake Bean, Carsen Twarynski, Pavel Karnaukhov and Tyler Mrkonjic all found the back of the net for the Hitmen who scored twice in each period. Travis Sanheim, Micheal Zipp, Layne Bensmiller and Radel Fazleev all chipped in a pair of assists.

Kolten Olynek snapped Cody Porter's shutout attempt, scoring with less than four minutes remaining. Porter finished with 18 saves to record the victory.

The East Division leading Raiders are now 1-2 against the Hitmen this season while falling to 16-8-2-1 on the season.

Calgary, 17-11-1-1, returns to action on Sunday, Dec. 6, when the Swift Current Broncos visit the Scotiabank Saddledome for the 21st annual Petro-Canada Teddy Bear Toss. Game time is 4:00 p.m. with doors opening 90 minutes prior to puck drop. Fans are encouraged to arrive early with a new small or medium-sized stuffed toy to toss onto the ice when the Hitmen score their first goal. Large stuffed toys will be collected upon entry to ensure the safety of all Scotiabank Saddledome guests.
